Designated Day Environment Day
On Designated Day of Environment Day, the Rotary Club of Lake District undertook a focused greening drive at E-City Lake in Raviryala to support the lake’s redevelopment and enhance its surrounding environment. Club President Ramesh Patel led the effort alongside Secretary Shanti Palreddy, Service Director Sudhir Reddy, Rtn Shyam Palreddy, and Ann Maya Patel. Together the team planted over 150 fruit and medicinal saplings around the lake, selecting species that will provide ecological benefits, shade, and community value as they mature.
The initiative aims to stabilize the lake’s shoreline, improve biodiversity, and create a greener, more inviting public space for local residents. Club members coordinated planting logistics, ensured proper spacing and soil preparation, and committed to follow-up care and watering to maximize sapling survival. The drive also served to raise local awareness about the importance of urban waterbody conservation and the role of community action in lake redevelopment.
The Rotary Club of Lake District invites rotarians and local stakeholders to participate in future care and monitoring activities as the saplings grow, reinforcing a long-term partnership for the lake’s restoration and the neighbourhood’s environmental wellbeing.
